First of all, thanks for limiting the rain (my big concern) while we were there. In 3 days at Arenal, we probably had a total of 1 1/2 hours of rain, and none during ANY of our activities. One day we walked to breakfast in the rain, and that was about it. It rained a little at Punta Islita, but the bulk of it was during our massages, which was kind of nice.
We started out by meeting Fabian at the airport. He was great. So kind and knowledgeable, nice to converse with, but when we needed quiet time to rest, he gave us what we needed.
Arenal was my favorite. The excursions gave us all such an adrenaline rush, and we were wiped out after the white water rafting. The zip lines were so long, and the view of the lake and mountains was spectacular. I had done level 2-3 Rapids before in the US, and didn't expect much, but it was a lot more intense in Costa Rica. We were lucky not to fall out of the raft. And the kids loved every minute of all the activities, which is the most important to me as a dad. Asis project was a perfect way to wind down, relax, and get ready for our next stop. We learned so much about conservation and protection of the wildlife.
We loved Villa Blanca, with all of its beauty and tranquility. Could have spent another day there, but I know we didn't have time. Not much for the kids to do, but Shani and I could spend some time there. The kids did get to milk the cows and feed the calves before we left. The food was great there, and they sang happy birthday to Rori at dinner, and also left chocolate covered strawberries in our room when we got back.
On to Punta Islita. Like our 2 prior stops, beautiful views. Here is the only place that we had a small problem. I had asked you a couple of times whether we should book activities there in advance, and you told me it wasn't necessary because it wasn't high season. Well when we checked in (and this also happened to someone we met there as well), several of the activities were full. It was a little disconcerting because I could have reserved a month in advance. They put us on wait lists, and told us to show up, that maybe someone wouldn't show. It all worked out. We got to do what we wanted to do in the end, but the process was a little annoying. So I would tell future guests that it's a good idea to book in advance if they know what they want to do.
Overall, the trip was simply amazing. You put together such a fantastic experience for our family. I loved that you called us a couple of times while we were there to see how everything was going. All of the staff that we dealt with were so courteous and professional. We met so many interesting people, from Kuwait, France, England and elsewhere.
Your country is beautiful (except for the horrible roads that I wasn't prepared for). We hope to be able to go back some day. And Galit thank you so much for everything. You are the best. I will definitely recommend you to anyone I know that wants to travel to Costa Rica.
Thanks again, David
