Chayote Lodge (1) for Howard Lis.jpg

Galit and the entire Wikol team were exceptionally helpful planning and organizing our family trip. Beyond that, the drivers, tour guides, boutique hotels they chose for us were amazing, and also the support we needed while in Costa Rica when we wanted to change anything. Incredibly responsive and professional.

Here is my feedback

El Silencio

  • Great hotel
  • Awesome accommodation, food and property
  • I would have like one other say at the hotel, as we really only had one full day there, and I imagine there is some other stuff in the area (towns etc) worth seeing.
  • Waterfall hike that was of-site was challenging and fun – the destination waterfall is gorgeous

Chayote Lodge

  • Amazing hotel; great rooms, incredible views
  • Rolando and his team are wonderful
  • Dinners good
  • Coffee tour: tour of coffee plantation was excellent,
  • Poas Volcano & Peace waterfalls: both great; Peace waterfalls and animal sanctuary were very impressive; also surprisingly, the included lunch was excellent

Tabacon/Arenal activities

  • Hotel facilities are excellent
  • Hot springs are very well done and adult-only section is a bonus
  • Great staff at hotel
  • Breakfasts were very good
  • Night time hike was just “ok”, nothing too exciting; it was just my son and I who went, and he was a bit bored. The guide who owns the land and his wife and kids are very welcoming and knowledgeable; we saw very few animals, mostly insects and frogs and some birds
  • Rafting: was a blast – really fun and great guides
  • Zip lining: was amazing. Lots of waiting until you get to go, but worth it. Canyoneering was really fun

Punta islita

  • Drive is like 4 hours plus makes sense to stop half way as we did. Fabian is a wonderful human being, very knowledgeable and warm.
  • Hotel is spectacular and accommodation is excellent
  • On-site zip lining more ‘family style’ but still very fun
  • Monkey walk was very interesting
  • Beach club is a huge plus
  • This hotel has a large tradeoff: given how isolated it is, you have a lot of privacy and it is very quiet; on the other hand, there is very little to do in the area
  • Beach and small bay very pretty
